Rwanda - Development of Best Aquaculture Practices learning materials

COFAD with a team of international and national experts is conducting an analysis of the capacities within the Rwandan aquaculture and to work with local actors to develop learning materials to promote capacity building for best practices amongst fish farmers.

The COFAD team in Rwanda has the task to support opportunities for building capacity within the national aquaculture sector with the aim of developing learning materials in Best Aquaculture Practices for practitioners at the farm level. This includes both reviewing existing manuals and learning materials in the region and conducting a capacity gap assessment with local, experts and stakeholders to identify the training needs of the sector. The results of this research will help the COFAD team to design learning materials tailored specially to the local socio-economic and environmental conditions as well as addressing capacity development needs of the region.
